About Zelda3 PuzzleDudes Quest

Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)

Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.

Name: Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (U) [!] Date of last change: August 23rd 2004 Size: 1.024 KB This is the US rom, don't patch to other roms. Hack made by PuzzleDude mail me [email protected] version 1-0, January 6 th, 2011 /\ /__\========================================================================= /\ /\ GAME INFO /__\/__\======================================================================= I started to remodel the original Zelda A Link to the Past game a long time ago. Unlike Goddess of Wisdom this is a modification, but despite that the dungeons are quite different to solve with a lot of new tricks and hidden objects. The star on the floor has many meanings in this game. Sometimes it will change the pits on the floor, but usually it means that something is hidden. In this case lift or hammer everything. At one point it even serves as a switch for opening the door. I was concentrating to change the gameplay as much as possible, so even a veteran of the game can easily get stuck. The game is also more difficult than the original, but still quite easy at some points. Despite the fact that this is a remodel, it still took a lot of work, specially because of the number of the dungeons. The overworld, however, is less modified, but there are a lot of barriers, that will force you to search for the correct path. A smart player will quickly see, that this is much more than just another vapid master quest. /\ /__\========================================================================= /\ /\ REMAINING AESTHETIC BUGS /__\/__\======================================================================= Despite numerous testing there are some aesthetic bugs that I couldnt remove, but you can still finish the game normally. -When you multy enter and exit the church (in rain only) without talking to the priest, Zelda will appear twice, but you can still continue normally. After the sequence, this bug will reset after another exit. If you play the game normally this doesnt happen. -Some dungeon maps are not completely accurate. The same goes for the overworld map. -When jumping down the cliff, you can sometimes land on a awkward spot (rare event). -When entering Ganons door at the end of the game, the Triforce shrine has a small display bug at the bottom of the screen, but the process goes on normally. /\ /__\========================================================================= /\ /\ HOW TO PLAY (IPS PATCHING) /__\/__\======================================================================= 1. You must have the original rom Zelda A Link to the Past. Here are the details: Name: Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (U) [!] Date of last change: August 23rd 2004 Size: 1.024 KB If you dont have this specific rom, google it. Type this into search field: Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (U) [!] and you should find it quick. This is the US rom. 2. Download Lunar IPS or IPS Win or similar. Google that. 3. Download Zelda PuzzleDudes Quest v1-0.ips and put it into the same folder as the Lunar IPS program and the original rom. 4. Open Lunar ips and select apply patch. 5. Select Zelda ips file = Zelda PuzzleDudes Quest v1-0.ips 6. Now select the file to patch = Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (U) [!].smc 7. The patching is successful. Now rename the rom file from "Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (U) [!]" to "Zelda PuzzleDudes Quest v1-0". /\ /__\========================================================================= /\ /\ HOW TO PLAY (EMULATORS) /__\/__\======================================================================= This game was finished from beginning to end with the Snes9x emulator for Windows. This emulator is not the best (the title and the naming screen are not emulated correcty, but the inner meta data is correct). I recommend the use of ZSNES emulator! the best SNES emulator, so they say. Google it and download. Then choose load game and select Zelda PuzzleDudes Quest v1-0 rom (patched). Note: Other emulators like SNES emulators for Wii, DS, PSP, PS are NOT recommended and are NOT compatible with this game. They dont emulate the way they should. Your emulator must be able to save and load state and remove the BG1 and BG2 layers (in snes9x and ZSnes simply press the number 1 and 2 on the keyboard). It is difficult to finish the game without these options. PS- If you are unable to perform these steps or cant patch, play or if you are stuck in the game, send me a mail to: [email protected] and I will help you on your quest. /\ /__\========================================================================= /\ /\ ENJOY THIS HACK, REGARDS, PUZZLEDUDE /__\/__\=======================================================================
