About Final Fantasy VI: Stand Guard

Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)

Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.

??Final Fantasy VI: Stand Guard! v6.3.2 ----------------------------------- By Spooniest, made using FF3usME 6.70 (Lord J et al), Translhextion, (Januschan) LunarIPS, (FuSoYa s Niche) yy-chr, (YY) and SnesTool (The M.C.A.) Welcome to Stand Guard. Installation ------------ I recommend using Tush and LunarIPS to apply the patch. This patch is for a headered rom, so use tush to add a header if you don't have one, and you should be fine. Tush will tell you if you have a header or not when you load your file into it. Locate these utilities in the RHDN Utilities section. More information can be found at romhacking.net, but I bet you knew that. VERSION HISTORY --------------- v6.3.2 - A space has been added after Kefka's line "Emperor Gestahl was right!" in the Big Battle Captions. - The NPC dialogue featuring the line "Try humiliating them by steal their clothes!" has been edited to remove a line overflow error. - Cait Sith's line in Terra's Eidolon World Flashback has been edited to remove a similar line overflow error. - The dialogue before Locke and Celes fight Tunnel Armor has been brought up to speed with the GBA version. v6.3.1 - Imperial banquet choice now correctly displays the word gone only once. How long has that been there? I'd have asked someone to edit it but no one can stand me, imagine that. v6.3 - Ghost in Zozo and later Narshe now reports correctly that MP+50% is a possible bonus. Can I please stop now, self? v6.2 - RHDN Staff requested hash info for the ROM you are supposed to use. I provided it. Here it is, by the way: CRC32: D184D919 MD5: 4CDFC79B 44CD6D53 2DC6631A 5C762094 SHA1: 258BCBC5 B7BCC250 98BF598C 4FF2AA6A C00FDE16 And, yes there is exactly one namecode call overflow possibility fixed. Don't judge me. v6.1 - Wouldn't you know it, I missed a 'Banan' in the Big Battle Captions. A few other fixes. Character names are now properly cased by default. For old time's sake. When I first submitted it I was submitting corrections for the next 5 hours or so until the staff contacted me and 'reeducated' me, ^_^ fun times. v6.0 - Overhaul of the text, removal of racy language, referential humor, reversion of character names to Woolsey (with the exception of Sean and Dean), reformatting of the text to provide more freedom in renaming characters, toning down of alcohol references. Also, the 'Sliding Dash' Fix was added. v5.2 - A couple of minor text bug fixes, finally updated the Installation instructions because OH MY GOD I went years without realizing they were wrong. v5.1 - A few minor text bug fixes. v5.0 - The font has been changed to a condensed version of the original game's font. The original font has two pixels of space after every letter. This has been reduced to one pixel of space. The script had to be re-edited for this to work. Cid's last name is now mentioned. The Kappa Armor is now the Reed Cloak. v4.0 - Total text reformat, a touch of editing and a new item v3.1 - Corrected a few typos. "ALBROOK" is now correctly, "ALBURG," things of that nature. v3.0 - Restarted from the ground up, due to the fact that it escaped my notice that the community uses Final Fantasy III v1.0 as something of a standard. I felt like that guy in the Oxy commercial whose friends are all arguing about who has to tell him he has zits. Oh well. Work began at 9 am central on 20 Sept 2011. The hacking took place between 9 am and 8 pm, and the playtesting took the rest of the month. Submitted on 1 Oct 2001. Changelog --------- v4.0 ---- - v3.0 ---- -Version 1.0 of the rom is now the base for the patch. I cannot stress this enough. You must now use version 1.0 of the game when applying the patch. -Font has been edited by vivify93, a cool dude who told me how to use yy-chr. Go kill some Intangirs! - The Psycho Cyan/Cayene bug is not fixed. If you really want to go to the trouble... Credits ------- vivify93 re-edited the font for me, at one point, and notified me that I ought to be using verison 1.0 as my base, rather than 1.1. I did most of everything else, with of course the exception of making the many patches that went into it, listed above in version history. Special Thanks ------- ------ Locke cole for beta testing/script suggestions. Jordan for catching a typo! Personnel, with two n's and one l. RHDN all staff! Everyone in the forums who provided me with input, feedback, and entertainment. My brother for getting me interested in hex editing in the first place. Ted Woolsey for his 30-day marathon. Lina Darkstar for her exhaustive research, and insight into the characterizations. Tom Slattery for the GBA version, many of which's lines were used in this one. Lord J and all who worked on FF3usME with him. Sky Render and RPGone for their work on the original fan translation. Square for having made this game in the first place. --- Remember, you need a copy of the ROM image for Final Fantasy III US v1.0 (HEADERED) and a copy of Tush and LunarIPS to apply properly. I haven't the slightest idea where you might get a rom, but Tush and LunarIPS are available in RHDN's "Utilities" section. - Spooniest Disclaimer: By downloading this patch, you agree to release me from any and all damages that may occur to you, your property, or your immiediate or extended family as a result of anything you do with the files contained therein.
