Secret of the Stars Decatas Government Office bug fix by KingMike, 2/27/08 Usage: Apply this patch to A ROM WITHOUT A HEADER. Description: This fixes a tiny bug in the US release. Normally, there's these guards preventing you from entering the town of Decatas. When you find a way inside, you can bribe this guy at a government office 1000 Gold to make the guards go away. Or at least you're supposed to pay 1000 Gold. However, due to a missing control code in the US version's script, this 1000 Gold fee is not entered into a certain memory location. So, when it comes time to adjust Kustera's account, the game will subtract whatever value was in that memory location. (this memory location is affected by resting at an inn, buying stuff in shops, etc. You can even exploit this by winning a battle and coming. You may end up with 9,999,999 Gold. However, for those who want the proper behavior while playing this (fairly unpopular) game, :D I have made a patch that restores the missing code. (I had to take out a couple words to make the code fit, since I didn't want to do too much work inserting the missing five bytes)
